The head of state met with Moldovans living in Ireland

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, paid a working visit to Dublin, where she discussed with Moldovan citizens living there. The head of state noted that Ireland is a country that demonstrated how economic development and  the improvement of living standards can encourage people to return home, even after spending years abroad.

“Our Moldovan community here in Ireland fully understands that the European path creates opportunities; they have had the chance to see this firsthand through the Irish example. I thanked them for supporting and promoting the path our country has chosen and for the way they are involved in the development of our country,” said the President.

The head of state mentioned that in Ireland, she met Moldovans who have become entrepreneurs: “I was pleased to meet our fellow citizens who, through hard work, have built businesses that promote our country and its products. Through daily efforts over many years, they manage to shape the image of a hardworking and honest people.”

Additionally, the President emphasized that Moldova is changing through investments being made in roads, kindergartens, schools, and hospitals in our villages and cities. “I encouraged them to continue promoting our country — through the way they speak about Moldova, the traditions they preserve, and the business contacts they establish. I urged them to participate in the Diaspora Invest event organized by the Investment Agency, to lay the foundation for new ways we can develop our country together,” concluded President Maia Sandu.
