President Nicolae Timofti started his two-day visit to Latvia, where he participates in the Eastern Partnership Summit. Timofti met his Latvian counterpart Andris Bērziņš, the presidential press service has reported.
The officials exchanged views about the summit’s agenda and reviewed the achievements and prospects of European integration of Moldova.
Timofti presented the development priorities of Moldova for the months to come and stressed the importance of solidarity of EU member states, which Moldova need in order to advance on the line of reforms.
Nicolae Timofti thanked Andris Bērziņš for the political support provided to Moldova so far and, in particular, for the ratification of the Moldova-European Union Association Agreement by Latvia.
Andris Bērziņš reiterated the support that Latvia would provide to Moldova. „We are open to help Moldova on its European path,” Andris Bērziņš said.
The sides also approached the bilateral ties and regional situation.
