Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Nicolae Timofti received a group of pupils from southern Comrat and Taraclia districts and Chisinau municipality on the International Day for Protection of Children today, the presidential press service has reported.
Nicolae Timofti presented to the children the state residence and the working rooms and those for official meetings.
„I am glad that we have here representatives of more ethnic groups in Moldova: Romanians, Gagauz, Russians, Ukrainians, and Bulgarians. We have lived and want to live in peace and understanding with everybody. I want you to never know what hatred and conflicts mean,” Timofti said.
A pupil of the 11th from of the Dmitri Celenghir Theoretical Lyceum from Avdarma village, Comrat district, Nadeja Manastirli, said: „Children, true patriots of Moldova, grow in Gagauzia. We want all nations to be friends”.
Timofti congratulated the children on the occasion of the International Day for Protection of Children and pupils performed songs, dances and recited poems.
They also presented Timofti handicrafts made by them and thanked for the reception.
Nicolae Timofti offered to the children by a photo album with the most beautiful places in Moldova and a festive reception.
