President Nicolae Timofti demanded that the Defence Ministry strengthens the capabilities of the Armed Forces. The president also instructed the organisation by the National Army of public events marking the National Flag and State Emblem Day without using military technology.
President Nicolae Timofti participated in the greeting ceremony of the Moldovan delegation led by Metropolitan Vladimir who brought the Holy Light from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem to Moldova, in the Metropolitan Cathedral Square in the capital.

Nicolae Timofti thanked Berdimuhamedow for special hospitality shown towards the Moldovan delegation and stressed that, during the consultations, special attention was paid to the issue of ensuring energy security. The talks on this item also regarded Turkmenistan’s participation in implementing projects on gas transport from the Caspian Sea region to the European Union.
By presidential decree, Grigore Botnaru was released from the office of judge at the Straseni Court according to his resignation request. Elena Roibu was dismissed from the office of judge at the Criuleni Court after receiving the final conviction verdict.
President Timofti thanked the Romanian state for its contribution to carrying out important cultural and education projects in Moldova.
President Nicolae Timofti said that Traian Basescu could receive Moldovan citizenship, considering his merits in strengthening the strategic partnership between Moldova and Romania.
