Nicolae Timofti said that the reform of the judicial system represented a premise necessary for enhancing the rule of law state and commitments regarding justice were included in the Association Agreement concluded with the European Union.
Lazurca pointed out that the Moldova's close connection to the European area, with a view of the country's irreversible commitment on its European integration path, was a priority of the Romanian state.

While considering the proposed candidates, Timofti found that these magistrates do not meet the requirements stipulated by the Law on statute of judge.
The talks were focused on the development of defence capacities of Moldova, in the context of actions taken by the North Atlantic Alliance on strengthening security in the region.
Timofti handed the Order of the Republic to Lithuanian counterpart Dalia Grybauskaitė "as a token of deep gratitude for her special contribution to developing the Moldovan-Lithuanian relations and for constant support of efforts on Moldova's European integration."
