Romanian President Klaus Werner Iohannis, numerous officials from Moldova and Romania, ambassadors and academicians, teachers and students attended the solemn event.
President Nicolae Timofti had talks with Romanian President Klaus Werner Iohannis in Suceava today, the presidency's press service has reported.
Timofti awarded Chinese Ambassador Tong Mingtao the Order of Honor, as a token of high appreciation for the development of the relations between the two states.
The officials exchanged views about the political situation in Moldova and the regional context and emphasised the actions that should be taken in order to successfully implement the provisions of the Association Agreement.
President Nicolae Timofti on these days holds talks with heads of the parliamentary groups, in order to decide the consultations agenda as to designate a candidate for the office of prime minister.
"Poland is a strong supporter of Moldova, and our bilateral ties are permanently strengthening. The people of Moldova is grateful to you for the friendship you have shown and support of our European integration", Timofti said.
The sides positively appreciated the cooperation between Moldova's army and the U.S. Navy, aimed at enhancing the country's defense capacity.
