It is an honour to speak here today — at a forum that reminds us that peace begins with truth, and that truth itself must be defended.
Dear citizens, Honourable Members of Parliament, Ladies and Gentlemen, We stand at the beginning of a new journey — in a newly elected Parliament to which the citizens have entrusted the fate of the country for the next four years and, above all, the mission of preserving peace in Moldova.
It is an honour to join you in celebrating 35 years of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe — an institution that is the cornerstone of democratic Europe.
For Moldova, your role has been significant.

Today, at the SSC meeting, we discussed the measures to counter the manipulation of information and foreign interference in electoral processes. There is important information about the risks to our country’s security and democratic processes in the Republic of Moldova. These risks must be brought to the attention of the citizens.
