The Head of State participated in the opening of the 27th International Specialized Exhibition of Wines Expovin Moldova-2018 of the International Wine and Spirits Wine and Spirits Tasting Contest "Black Sea Region Wines & Spirits Contest-2018".
The event was attended by 92 manufacturers from 12 countries: Romania, Ukraine, Georgia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Canada and other countries.
“Such events are important not only for their participants, but also for the Republic of Moldova. As you know, our country is rich in traditions in the field of viticulture and winemaking, which are transferred from generation to generation.
In the Republic of Moldova, about 100 enterprises produce grape wine. In recent years, there has been a steady increase in the grape wine export. In 2017, deliveries to the traditional markets of the CIS countries amounted to 138 million liters of wine, and to the markets of the countries of the European Union - 76.9 million liters. In the last period, wine exports to CIS countries grew by 16%. I wished the participants of the exhibition and tasting contest success, fruitful exchange of experience and new achievements!"- said Igor Dodon.
