The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu participated today, at the invitation of her counterpart from Vilnius, President Gitanas Nauseda, in the National Flag Hoisting Ceremony on the occasion of the Statehood Day of the Republic of Lithuania.
At the event, the Head of State congratulated the Lithuanian people on the occasion of the national holiday and mentioned the close relations our countries have maintained over the centuries. "We appreciate Lithuania's consistent support for Moldova's democratic development and European integration. Lithuania continues to be an example of dignity and courage for our country," President Maia Sandu said in her speech on the occasion of the celebration.
