Today, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, together with the bashkan of ATU Gagauzia, Irina Vlah, took part in the opening ceremony of the Department of Therapy and Chronic Diseases of the Vulcanesti District Hospital.
"The Vulcanesti district hospital was commissioned in 1982, but until 2018, no repairs were carried out. Last year, the hospital risked remaining without appropriate accreditation from the Ministry of Health in the event of lack of repair in the department. In this regard, more than 1,500 patients undergoing treatment at this hospital would have to travel to other localities to obtain the medical services that they needed. Now, after major repairs of the department of therapy and chronic diseases, patients will be able to receive medical care in modern conditions. The issue of lack of places for patients was also solved," Igor Dodon wrote on his social network page.
He welcomed the perseverance shown by local residents and medical personnel to preserve the medical facility, and also appreciated support provided by the Executive Committee of Gagauzia in the process of repairing the hospital.
"Closure of medical institutions, schools and mayoralties will only lead to the exodus of the population from these settlements, and subsequently - to their disappearance. We must create, not destroy, and I intend to input all necessary efforts for this," the President stressed.
